- Work on simulation environments and control experiments
- Build internal tools for data capture and experiment tracking
- Document experiments to research-grade standards
- Support hardware bring-up alongside embedded engineers
- Help maintain the lab's data and model versioning discipline
Required skills
- Python and/or C++ proficiency
- Foundations in linear algebra, control or computer vision
- Familiarity with ROS, Gazebo, OpenCV or similar (any subset)
- Bonus: hardware projects, competitions, embedded experience
Preferred / bonus
- Coursework or projects in SLAM, motion planning or controls
- Comfort with PyTorch for perception models
- Exposure to depth/lidar/IMU sensor data
- Robotics competition history (RoboCup, MATE, etc.)
Who should apply
Students who have built robots, flown drones they coded themselves, or done serious CV/control coursework with projects to show.
Ideal candidate profile
- You're comfortable when the bug might be in the wiring
- You instrument the world before you blame the model
- You can read a paper, implement it and benchmark it honestly
What you'll learn
- End-to-end robotics workflows from sensor to actuator
- Simulation discipline — what carries over to hardware and what doesn't

Growth path
The Robotics Lab is a long-horizon R&D division — strong interns become the core of future robotics engineering teams.
Months 0–3
Onboard onto a perception or control workstream with senior pairing.
Months 3–6
Own a component (e.g. a perception sub-pipeline) with documented benchmarks.
Year 1 (Robotics Engineer)
Contribute meaningfully to a lab project; co-author internal research notes.
Years 2+
Specialise — perception, control, simulation, hardware integration.
How to apply
Use the application form on the careers page — select Internship as role type and mention Robotics Intern in your motivation note. Attach a résumé and anything you've built that you're proud of.
FAQ
